Corporates are slowly beginning to call their staff back to the office as COVID-19 restrictions are gradually being lift off. The Department of Telecommunications (DoT) has extended the relaxation of guidelines to facilitate work from home by December 2020. As a result, company personnel now have the option to leverage work from home facility till the end of 2020.

Considering these developments, OYO Hotels & Homes has decided to permanently move towards a ‘hybrid workplace model’ that would aid the organization to operate in full capacity. While a substantial portion of the staff is working from home, various teams have opted to work from remote locations while remaining preferred to work in flexible coworking centers.

According to a company statement, this model would ensure that their workforce has plenty of options as various Indian states ease lockdown restrictions while maintaining social distancing guidelines.  The move will offer flexibility in the working hours, a phenomenon that has resulted in considerable surge in overall productivity. OYO is also launching multiple employee-centric initiatives to uplift employee’s morale during tiring times.

These digital modules also have some additional COVID-19 modules to convey necessary health advisories and precautions to OYOprenuers across different regions. A major reason for the immense success of this program is because of the company’s internal tech support system, OYO Seek. Apparently, it has played an integral role in resolving numerous technology-dependent queries in a timely manner.

Speaking on the recent move, Dinesh Ramamurthi, Chief Human Resources Officer of OYO Hotels & Homes, said that the evolving working environment in light of the current scenario is a strong testament to the company’s workforce, proving that employee efficiency is superior to actual physical presence. The company is committed to ensuring its employee wellbeing & safety and has implemented the hybrid workplace model to maintain these aspects during the COVID-19 crisis.
