Myriad US renewable energy groups declare joint vision for 2030

The U.S. wind, solar, hydropower and energy storage industries have reportedly announced their joint commitment towards reaching majority clean and renewable electricity generation within a decade. The collaboration has been observed by the American Wind Energy Association, Solar Energy Industries Association, Energy Storage Association and the National Hydropower Association.
For the record, the leaders of these associations have announced the shared vision at the first CLEANPOWER Annual Conference for business establishments in the renewable and clean energy sector. These four associations have jointly released a set of advocacy principles which comprise a more efficient, resilient, and sustainable grid that would effectively reduce carbon emissions and advance greater competition via fair market rules.
According to Tom Kiernan, the CEO of American Wind Energy Association, this collaboration has opened up altogether new market opportunities that comprise a mix of technologies. He has also explained that these sectors will continue to meet the increasing demand for integrated renewable energy options and create millions of new jobs to strengthen economies for a better tomorrow.
The CEO of Energy Storage Association, Kelly Speakes-Bachman, has expressed the association’s pleasure in being part of clean energy efforts to reduce carbon emissions by 2030. He has cited the storage industry as a fundamental asset for providing flexibility for the creation of a more modern and decarbonized grid.
In the midst of the coronavirus pandemic, it is imperative that the U.S. government puts efforts towards innovation, job creation, and smarter ways for energy generation, says Abigail Ross Hopper, the President and CEO of Solar Energy Industries Association. He has also stated the importance of following right policies for making the American economy a cleaner economy.
Malcolm Woolf, the President and CEO of National Hydropower Association, has explained the significance of hydropower and pumped storage for the development of an integrated renewable grid. He further believes that the addition of a new generation to the existing non-powered dams will accelerate the development of a cleaner electricity grid.
