Mitsubishi Electric to organize formal trial for its Dynamic Sign tech

Mitsubishi Electric Corporation, one of the giants of the electronics industry, reportedly announced that it will organize a formal trial for “dynamic sign”, latest technology of the company that enables projection of animated pictures like directions and alerts on the floors of buildings and public facilities.

The trial would be conducted at Musashino Forest Sport Plaza in Chofu City, Tokyo. This trial aims to develop global standardization of symbols utilized in dynamic sign and their applications. The trial would take place during the international wheelchair basketball competition for men; being hosted from August 29 to September 1, 2019 at the venue. The tournament is named as “Mitsubishi Electric WORLD CHALLENGE CUP 2019”.

This trial is a part of the initiative “International Standardization of Dynamic Sign", a combined effort by Mitsubishi Electric and National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology (AIST), component of the project commissioned under Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry to the JSA (Japanese Standards Association). 

The rollout of dynamic sign would make it more convenient and easier for visitors to find their path across large facilities. The company aims to contribute towards the realization of having a society that facilitates equal ease of access for everyone and also achieve United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals.

Mitsubishi has previously conducted dynamic sign trials at public places like sporting events and railway stations. The results of these trials confirmed that it offers an effective solution to the issue of visibility and inconvenience faced at such places, significantly improving its ease-of-use.

Mitsubishi’s focus is to contribute to innovation of facilities that enable quick and easy access to everyone, expecting more widely to promote the pros of dynamic sign to society.
