DXC Technology, a multinational company providing B2B IT services based in America plans to employ more than 10,000 people in India aiming to hire candidates having digital technology skills, as the firm looks to transform quicker to remain competitive.

The DXC Technology, which is headquartered in US and was established in 2017 after the merger of enterprise business of HP Enterprise and CSC, has employed 45,000 people in India, approx. 40% of the company’s total 1,30,000 employees across the globe. DXC Technology lost the position of third largest IT services company in the world to Tata Consultancy Services, which is witnessing double digit growth.

Global Head of Delivery and Operations at DXC, Samson David stated that the company will continue to hire in India. David added that the company will possibly hire over 10,000 people in India through the year (FY20) with a predominant focus on candidates’ digital skills.

DXC Technology has joined other international firms to expand its offshore base in India as the company struggles to hire talent across developed markets like the United States.

John Michael Lawrie, CEO at DXC Technology stated that inability to hire employees rapidly costed $100 million to the company in revenue. Lawrie added that the company witnessed delays in ramp-up of some large digital contracts. As the company continues to have strong market demand for its digital solutions, it is consuming more time than expected to hire resources to support its digital growth.

The $20 billion giant has been aiming to increase digital talent and build abilities in up-and-coming technologies since it has been witnessing challenges in growth.
