BASF Canada Agricultural Solutions has recently unveiled its modernized formulation, packaging, & distribution facility in Regina, Saskatchewan. The company has invested above $14 million in facility transformations, making it the biggest agriculture infrastructure investment since the last decade.

The Regina facility is located at the heart of the agriculture industry in Canada, and will produce nearly half of the crop protection products of BASF Canada. This will significantly cater to the farmers across the country as well as in the Northern U.S. and rapidly provide them access to agricultural products.

As per the statement made by BASF Canada Agricultural Solutions’ VP of Business Management, Jonathan Sweat, farmers in the region have been relying on its portfolio of solutions to overcome agronomic challenges in the fields. The recently transformed facility will have the capacity to produce more than 30 million liters of agricultural solutions on an annual basis. The statement further added that the significant investment demonstrates the company’s ongoing commitment to innovation.

Some major enhancements to the Regina facility include upgradation of mechanical operations, quality control, automation systems, and safety protocols & performance. In addition, the facility transformation will further support product segregation and safeguard against cross-contamination. Additional upgrades to the facility include:

The construction of the Regina facility commenced in December 2019 and was completed officially in October 2020. Viper® ADV, which is one of the important herbicides for the filed pea farmers, is among the 1st solutions expected to be produced at the facility. Additionally, it will be a 100% domestically-produced solution at the facility.
