American social media giant Facebook Inc. has launched its cloud gaming services for Apple devices such as iPads and iPhones through a web application. According to reliable sources, the new feature is currently only available for users from Mexico, Canada, and the United States.
The web app will allow users to play simple games such as match threes and Solitaire as well as graphically intense games. Sources confirmed that Roller Coaster Tycoon Touch by Atari, Dragon Mania Legends, Lego Legacy Heroes Unboxed by Gameloft, and the State of Survival are some of the popular titles that will be now available for iOS users.
For the record, Facebook’s cloud streaming service was launched for Android users in October 2020. Apple’s had restrictions that prevented it from being released on iOS devices till much later.
After a concession with Apple Inc., Facebook has managed to get its gaming app listed on the App Store. However, Facebook Gaming has recently shifted its services to the web again after clashes over Apple’s streaming policy, sources claimed.
It is also worth mentioning that both Microsoft and Amazon have used this method earlier.
Facebook Gaming recently joined forces with Ubisoft Entertainment SA. As a result, Assassin’s Creed Rebellion, a popular RPG action game will also be available on the social media giant’s cloud gaming services.
If reports are to be believed, Facebook Gaming is offering 25 cloud-streamed games and has more than 1.5 million active users per month. It will be available for the Central and Western Europe user base by early 2022.
